In My Sleep

by Becky Curtis

I wrote a poem of objects,

All sitting in rows.

Some were purple and others blue

But I couldn’t make out what the items were,

Just an outline of a shape.

Then as I checked the poem,

To edit,

I rearranged some of the pieces,

Realizing, what I’d once thought was purple

Was actually blue.
